The Forum for Interlending (FIL) is offering sponsored delegate places at the forthcoming Interlend 2021 conference, to be held online on Wednesday 30 June 2021.
The sponsorship award covers the cost of attendance at the conference.
To be considered, an email application should be sent to the FIL Chair, Claire Hordern claire.hordern@manchester.ac.uk
This should include:
1. Full name
2. Contact details (email, telephone number, address)
3. Note of availability to attend conference if award is granted
4. Brief explanation of why you wish to attend, as well as the value that you and your organisation would gain from attendance at Interlend 2021 (200-300 words)
The Committee especially welcomes applications from new professionals, library students and NHS and public sector library staff.
As a condition of the award, the successful applicant is required to submit a report, evaluation or critical appraisal of the conference by the end of August 2021. These will be published in a forthcoming issue of the FIL Journal, as well as being used on the Forum’s website with elements being reused in future FIL publicity as deemed appropriate.
The closing date for applications is Tuesday 1 June 2021. The Committee aims to notify the successful and unsuccessful applicants of their decision within 5 working days of the closing date.
The FIL Committee will consider all applications and make the award to the applicant whom they believe would gain the most demonstrable benefit from attendance.
Good luck!
Help us to celebrate the amazing work which we all do and see within Interlending.
We are looking for nominations in the following categories:
Innovation in Interlending. The last year has thrown many challenges at us. Have you tried someone new and amazing? Invented a new way of working? Let us know.
Interlending – Above and Beyond. Sometimes requests can be more challenging.
We’re looking for individuals or teams who have gone way beyond normal working practice to help an individual or an institution within interlending.
Interlending – Rarest or most Random. Have you tracked down the last copy in existence? Supplied something to an unusual library? We all have stories of the most random requests we’ve filled. Now’s your chance for your story to shine.
Nominations for the above three categories should be for work done within the last 12 months.
Lifetime Achievement. We’re looking to celebrate someone who within their working life has made a difference, year on year within Interlending. Is that you, or someone you know?
Nominations should be submitted to the FIL Chair, Claire Hordern
claire.hordern@manchester.ac.uk by the 1 June 2021.
Nominations should be no more than 300 words, and should clearly name the nominee and category. Individuals or teams may self nominate, or be nominated by colleagues. Winners will be announced on 30 June 2021 at the FIL conference.
Interlend 2021: ILL in the ‘New Normal’ will be our 2nd online event for interlending professionals on Wednesday 30th June 2021. Like everyone else, we are looking to the future and considering what ILLs and Interlending may look like in a post-Covid world.
Book your place here.
The event will be hosted on Zoom and our licence does limit numbers; in the event that we are oversubscribed, we will create a waiting list on a first-come first-served basis. Instructions and the link to join the event will be sent to registered attendees nearer the actual day.
Prices:
