About Us & Our Objectives
FIL’s Mission Statement
By providing a forum for the discussion of best practices and policies, the FIL aims to promote and advance the science and practice of Inter-Library Loans and Document Supply and to improve the overall standards of library services by encouraging National and international developments and co-operation in Inter-Library Loans and Document delivery.
The Objectives of FIL are to:
- Provide a forum for the discussion of Inter-Library Loan and Document Supply policies and practices
- Work with and improve the awareness of other organisations whose activities are relevant to the purposes of Inter-Library Loans and Document Supply
- Monitor and encourage international developments and co-operation in Inter-Library Loans and Document Supply
- Promote and advance the science and practice of Inter-Library Loans and Document Supply to improve the overall standards of library services
- Publicise the role of the Forum in pursuing these objects
As a member of FIL, help us to fulfil our objectives by:
- Contributing your opinion on inter Library Loan matters via the FIL Email Discussion List (FIL@JISCMAIL.AC.UK)
- Informing the FIL Secretary of changes to your contact details
- Gaining maximum benefit from FIL events
In addition, you may wish to:
- Contribute articles to the FIL website
- Join the FIL Committee and help to shape and develop the Forum and its activities
