Events and Conferences

Events and conferences offer valuable opportunities to connect, learn, and grow professionally. FIL generally runs two Interlend events a year, normally in June and November, with the summer event being held online and the autumn event taking place in person. Interlend events are free to attend for FIL members, and we welcome ideas for sessions. If you would like to present at one of our events, please contact the FIL Committee.

Northwest Interlibrary Loan and Resource Sharing Conference 2026 – Tuesday 1st to Thursday 3rd September 2026, University of Oregon, Portland campus (hybrid conference). 

IFLA Interlending and Document Supply (ILDS) 2026 – Monday 28th to Wednesday 30th September, Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. Conference theme: Knowledge Without Walls: Sharing in Times of Change.

CILIP – the UK’s library and information association.

UKSG – focuses on scholarly communications and technologies. 

NAG (National Acquisitions Group) – hosts events covering the acquisition, management and development of library resources.

SCONUL – organisation representing the academic and research library community in the UK and Ireland.

M25 Consortium of Academic Libraries – covers libraries across the London and South East area

CSGUK (Customer Services Group UK) – events are aimed at staff working in front line customer service roles, so may offer a useful user services perspective for ILL work
