Your FIL Committee
Kip A. Darling : Chair (February 2026-)
Inter-Library Loans Co-ordinator
Birmingham City University
Kip.Darling@bcu.ac.uk
I began my career in academic libraries in 2003 and joined Birmingham City University in 2009. I have led the Inter-Library Loans team there since 2016. My work focuses on resource sharing, service improvement, and finding practical solutions that connect researchers with the information they need.
I have a particular interest in collaboration across institutions and previously served as RapidILL Working Group Coordinator for IGeLU (2024–2025). I’m especially drawn to the global nature of interlending and the way libraries quietly work together across borders to support teaching and research.
As Chair of the Forum for Interlending, I aim to support FIL as an inclusive practitioner community, building on its history while encouraging participation and shared learning.
Outside of work, I enjoy time with my wife, writing poetry, and creating music.

I joined Newcastle University’s library in 2017 as a Library Coordinator and have been in my current post since 2021. My role involves managing the Inter Library Loan service, developing our virtual enquiry service and contributing to learning & development operations. I enjoy collaborating with colleagues and learning from others.
Outside of work I like nothing better than spending time with my family.
Roana Mourad : Secretary (February 2026-)
Resource Librarian
Glasgow Caledonian University
rmo5@gcu.ac.uk
I’m the Resource Librarian at Glasgow Caledonian University, where I lead Resource Sharing, Scanning for Teaching, and Accessible Texts. I’ve been in this role since 2022, but before that I worked as an Academic Liaison Librarian in Health and Life Sciences and as a Research Support Librarian. Earlier in my career I also worked in public libraries and a media library.
GCU was the first Scottish library to join WHELF+ and the first Scottish Alma Rapido library.
Joanne Booker : Web Officer (February 2026-)
Interlibrary Loan and Scan and Deliver Team Leader
Bodleian Libraries, University of Oxford
joanne.booker@bodleian.ox.ac.uk
I joined the Bodleian in my current role in November 2022, overseeing our interlibrary loans service and acting as coordinator for our Scan & Deliver service. Prior to this, I had worked in various roles across academic libraries and local government. My team’s work covers all aspects of ILL borrowing and lending, and I enjoy the problem solving aspect of being able to track down items to support our readers in their research. My previous experience in customer service has led to an interest in the user experience aspect of ILL processes, and I have also recently achieved Carbon Literacy certification so am currently looking at sustainability in the context of ILL.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, puzzles, crime dramas, swimming, and spending time with my husband and our young son.
Alex Priestman : Web Officer (February 2026-)

University of Warwick
alex.priestman@warwick.ac.uk
My career in the libraries started in 2020 in public libraries. In 2025, I pivoted to academic libraries and joined the Collection Acquisition team at the University of Warwick as the Acquisitions Officer. My role involves helping oversee our Get It For Me service, which includes document supply and ILL, as well as overseeing e-book package acquisitions.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, knitting, and spending time with family.
Muriel Munguia : Marketing and Communications Officer (July 2025-)
Library Collections Assistant (ILL/UCF)
University of Edinburgh
mmunguia@ed.ac.uk
My library career began in digital and special collections, before moving into academic libraries and roles more directly involved with helping patrons. I joined the University of Edinburgh as part of the Interlibrary Loans team in November 2023. My role involves processing ILL borrowing and lending requests, retrieving requested items from our offsite University Collections Facility, and working closely with our Scan & Deliver team to fulfil requests for both our patrons and library partners.
Outside of work I enjoy being outdoors (when the weather allows), cooking and trying new food, and reading.
