Interlend 2021: ILL in the ‘New Normal’
The FIL committee would like to invite applications from the inter-lending community to speak at this year’s one-day online conference which will take place on Wednesday 30th June 2021.
The theme for Interlend 2021 centres on the changes in ILL in 2020 and 2021 as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic.
We are looking for people to share their experiences of the last year. This can be in the form of a mini talk or a full presentation.
Presentation topics could cover:
- Interlending & Document Supply Service – How we adapted to lockdown
- Service Development/Practical solutions to everyday problems
- Cooperation, Collaboration and Teamwork – Working together and sharing resources
- Opportunities and Challenges of Virtual Learning
- Sharing Best Practice
Mini talks from staff at the ‘coal face’ – New to 2021!
If you are new to presenting, these will provide an ideal opportunity for you to ‘dip your toe’ into delivering a talk in an informal setting to an audience comprising other likeminded practitioners. We would like you to give a short presentation/overview on any recent changes, innovations or other developments in the field of interlending that you have been involved with during this very challenging year. Short presentations give you 15 minutes to share a high level overview of your experiences in the ILL field.
These provide more time; up to 30 minutes plus time for questions to cover your topic in more depth, though the themes are the same and everyone is welcome to apply.
Proposals should include an abstract outlining your talk or presentation (max 300 words)
Proposals should be emailed to the Chair of FIL Claire Hordern, email@example.com by Friday 23rd April after which point they will be reviewed by the Committee. The Chair will be in touch with all applicants after this date to confirm or decline your proposal. Submission of a proposal does not guarantee acceptance, and the Committee’s considered selection of proposals is final. We regret that due to time restrictions no correspondence over the decision will be entered into.
If you’d like to informally discuss possible themes, topics or approaches for your sessions please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Claire Hordern, firstname.lastname@example.org
